A little tribute to our guest on board Reel Chase yesterday. A great angler and great company!

We certainly had a lot of excitement and action on board even though it seemed the bite off Cape Bowling Green had slowed. Here's hoping that when the wind comes up during the week, it settles again and re-ignites the bite for the start of the Townsville Tournament next weekend.

We still tagged four for the day, which could very well have been eight, or 10... I was practicing for the tournament and lets just say I need more practice. Haha. Best get all that out of the way now!

1. Fishing Kelly, just before my first small hitch.
2. Tim's first fish comes out for a quick hello and photo.
3. Deckie Brad releases another at the side of Reel Chase.
4. Deckie Wade goes for the tag.
5. One of the many nearby boats gets some action too.

First day in after 6 days of spectacular fishing resulted in no rest (for the wicked!) as I successfully dragged Capt. Jim and Deckie Brad out of bed this morning to greet the Duyfken as it sailed into Port. I've been working on bringing the ship to town as part of my day job and so it was a joy to see her finally sail motor in (no wind).

1. TPA Pilot boat the Brolga greets the Duyfken on her way into port.

2. The Duyfken with spectacular morning views of Townsville and Castle Hill.

Back to fishing tomorrow and I am out on the boat again, this time as angler. Not sure how I will manage photos while fighting the fish but will get it together somehow.

67 black marlin tagged in 8 days!

Captain Jim and the crew of REEL CHASE have today tagged 17 blacks capping off a busy and exciting week's fishing at Australia's premier juvenile black marlin fishing ground. Since my (Kelly), trip out on the boat Saturday, the fishing has gone from strength to strength with Captain Jim today saying that more and more fish seem to be arriving each day.

Do you wish you were out there as much as I do?

A day of light tackle fishing at Bowling Green with some friends and clients turned into a wonderful photo oppurtunity. With five black marlins tagged and plenty more opportunities for our novice anglers, a great day was had by all. Here's just a sample of the pictures. If time permits, will put up larger ones in an album.

1.Ron's marlin, great tag shot from deckie Brad. 2.Chris' marlin jumps right at the boat. 3. Deckie wade wraps.

4. Robert's fish shows its head. 5. Justin's fish jumps right in shot for me. 6. Happy faces on board REEL CHASE.
